WATCH: SAINT WKND's music video for 'Golden'

April 2024 · 2 minute read

SAINT WKND has unveiled the visual for his debut single ‘Golden’, a collaboration with Australian indie group Hoodlem.

The dark visual begins with shots of a man walking through a forest, and two guys driving around in an old Chevrolet. Things gets eerier as the three seemingly return to the forest, with one lighting up a blue flare which adds to the mystery. What follows is head shots of numerous young people in different surroundings, their eyes lit up with a golden effect.

Speaking about the visual, SAINT WKND said: “As a kid of Generation Y, we ask ourselves what the purpose of our existence is. We feel that we are not good enough, that we don’t have enough. We search for something and yet we sometimes don’t know what it is. And the only way to escape is to flee into moments of ecstasy. We mostly keep our fears and secrets inside us, because our society is build around success. It’s our eyes that speak sometimes more than our words do.”

Check out the visual for ‘Golden’ below.

Since ‘Golden’ was released a few weeks ago, it has amassed almost one million streams, with plaudits from Indie Shuffle, Earmilk and Complex UK, amongst others. It is the first track to be lifted from his forthcoming EP, Golden Youth.

Whilst ‘Golden’ is considered SAINT WKND’s debut single, he has been sharing remixes and bootlegs on Soundcloud for a while. In fact, he has amassed over 25 million plays across his content, and already has a loyal following. It’s safe to say that he is well on his way to breaking through with his music, and we’re excited to see what he does next.
