HE’S a 14-year-old schoolboy who practises pitching business ideas in his room.

But Daniel Baise may now be ready to join his idol Steve Jobs in tech history thanks to Ten’s new reality show Shark Tank.

On the episode airing tonight, the Melbourne teen unveils his prototype for GTouch, an interactive computer screen that can be activated on glass. Seeking $60,000 from the Sharks in return for a 15 per cent return, Daniel has already sunk all of his own savings into the product.

SARAH HARRIS: Shark Tank host was told she’d never make it in TV

“I spent $3000 on the prototype that I’d saved up, birthday money and pocket money and things like that,” he says.

“The idea for GTouch came from watching the news and seeing futuristic movies and what they think will come in the future. A lot of people had computers like that so I created one.

Daniel’s mum Linda for one isn’t surprised by her son’s tech success.

“He’s always been very focused and technically minded,” she says. “Since he was young he would take apart computers and phones to see how everything worked inside. Where he gets it from I don’t know!”

Of course, every prodigy needs a mentor. So Daniel’s school principal helped him craft the perfect presentation for his time on Shark Tank.

“My principal was on Dragon’s Den in England so he helped me practice by asking me hard questions so I could practice answering them.”

For their part, the Sharks said they were blown away by how brilliant Daniel’s pitch to them was.

“We were surprised to say the least,” says internet pioneer Steve Baxter. “He’s a cracker. The way Daniel presented was so mature and beyond his years, he handled himself well.”

While all remained tight-lipped over the outcome of Daniel’s pitch, the young entrepreneur says no matter what happens he won’t give up on his dreams of tech success.

“I want to change the way that people see computers and the way they’re being used,” Daniel says.

And as for being the smartest 14-year-old in Australia?

“He’s very modest,” mum Linda shares. “But who knows? He’s definitely the most determined!”

Shark Tank airs at 8pm, tonight on Channel 10.
