Genevieve and Jared Padalecki Announce "Stronger Than Storms" Partnership with Pop & Suki

June 2024 · 3 minute read

It all started with Danneel Harris-Ackles.

After learning about the detrimental effects of Hurricane Harvey, she raised the idea to start a fundraiser for her current home state. Alongside her husband, Jensen Ackles, and his company, The Family Business Beer, they created a campaign on CrowdRise named “Stronger Than Storms“. All of the donations made on the page were set to go straight to the organization Random Acts, who would allocate the money to charities aiding Texas. Random Acts was founded by Jensen Ackles’ co-star, Misha Collins, around 2010.

As soon as the SPN Family learned about it, they began to show their support. So many fans donated that the campaign grew massively, gaining a partnership with The CW, the network that runs Supernatural.

Shortly after Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Irma hit Florida. To continue to help those in need, “Stronger Than Storms” began to distribute money to both areas. After about three weeks, the campaign has collected over four-hundred and twenty thousand dollars to aid those affected by the hurricanes.

This is not the first time the Supernatural family has turned to help others. Not only do many fans volunteer their time and donate to Random Acts, but the cast members have held many campaigns to raise funds. Jensen Ackles, Rob Benedict, Rachel Miner, Jared Padalecki, Jim Beaver, Kim Rhodes, Briana Buckmaster and Misha Collins are just some of the show’s stars that have held some type of fundraiser to collect money for charity.

While the storms have come and gone, Texas and Florida are both still in need of help. It will take time for the states to rebuild what was lost. To keep encouraging people, especially the SPN family, to donate to “Stronger Than Storms”, Genevieve and Jared Padalecki, decided to partner up with Pop & Suki. The two announced the news yesterday on their social media pages.

Genevieve and Jared Padalecki first partnered with Pop & Suki back when their third child, Odette, was born in early March. The couple sold personalized heart tags that benefitted both Planned Parenthood and Human Rights Campaign.

This time around, they are selling paperclip chains that can be worn as a necklace or a bracelet. Each one costs $45 (excluding 14K gold – this goes for $350), and every single dollar made goes straight to the “Stronger Than Storms” campaign.

According to Jared Padalecki, only five-hundred chains are currently available for purchase. However, if they do end up selling out, the Supernatural stars will look into making more available.

If you are not interested in a chain but would like to donate, the original CrowdRise is still running. You can find it here.

Yet again, Supernatural is making it clear that it is much more than just some fantasy/horror TV show. The bond between cast and fans is incredibly unique and quite extraordinary. They created a safe and strong family that, for years, have been working together to make the universe a better place. Not only do they build each other up and support one another, but they constantly join forces to raise money and awareness for things that matter (mental health, disaster relief, the environment, and others). They are the real world versions of Sam, Dean, and Castiel.
