It seems musicians are not the only ones in danger of getting an object thrown at them while on stage.

Actors appear to be in the firing line too after British actress Florence Pugh was hit in the face by a flying object seemingly thrown by a fan at a Comic-Con event in Brazil on Sunday.

The 27-year-old was in the South American country to promote her new movie Dune: Part Two with co-stars including Timothée Chalamet, Austin Butler and Zendaya when a hard object came flying in her direction, striking her hard just under her right eye.

Pugh and her co-stars were standing in a semi-circle on stage in front of the audience when the incident occurred, leaving the entire cast shocked and confused.

It took Pugh completely by surprise and she recoiled in pain after being struck. Footage of the incident has done the rounds on social media, with the star appearing to stop herself from saying the F-word after being hit.

Thankfully, the actress was not seriously injured, but many social media users have still expressed their disgust over what went down.

“This disturbing trend of throwing harmful objects at artists, actors & actresses needs to stop!” one wrote on X. “Florence Pugh got hit in the eye & that could of severely damaged her vision!”

“That almost took Florence Pugh’s eye out. WTF is wrong with people?” another added, while a third commented, “Someone nearly blinded Florence Pugh in one eye.”

Indeed, a string of artists have found themselves the victims of fans pelting them with objects while they perform.

Bebe Rexha required three stitches on her face after a concertgoer threw a phone her way at her NYC gig in June. The culprit was eventually arrested and charged with assault.

Meanwhile, Harry Styles was seen wincing in pain onstage at his Vienna concert weeks later after an unknown item was launched at him.

Country music star Kelsea Ballerini had the same happen to her when an object hit her eye and forced her to leave the stage in Boise, Idaho.

Most recently, Taylor Swift had to fend off similar attacks during the Buenos Aires leg of her Eras Tour.

“It really freaks me out when stuff gets thrown on the stage. Because if it’s on the stage then a dancer can trip on it,” she told the crowd.

“I love that you brought presents and that is so nice, but just can you please not throw them on the stage. I love you so much.”
